Concert and New CD Release by The Livesays

by Frank Prieto on December 4, 2011

As a music lover I enjoy all kinds of music. Classic Rock, Funk, Disco, Salsa, Son and even Hip-Hop and Reggaeton. I’ve had a great time this year attending the local music events and I’m looking forward to what’s to come in 2012. But I get super excited when a band releases a new CD with original music. This is where the rubber meets the road when a band want’s to take it to the next level. That’s what The Livesays (pronounced “Thuh Lév-ah-sees”) have just done.

On keyboard and vocals with The Livesays is our very own Cuqui Berrios who was an original member of the The Warlocks back in the day. Cuqui informed me that The Livesays are having the CD release party at Boston’s on the Beach in Delray Beach on December 10th 2011.

The day before (on December 9th) they are opening for the groups Ambrosia and Kansas as well as doing a tribute to the late Clarence Clemons. Clemons – known to fans as the Big Man – was the most famous member of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band. Playing saxophone will be his nephew Jake Clemons. The concert will be at Mizner Park in Boca Raton. —>

Four of The Livesays members are from Hialeah and one from Miami. If you want to know what their music is like, the best description I found is this: Take 2 pints Springsteen, 1 pint Sheryl Crow, a spoonful of Beatles, a pinch of Stones and a sprinkle of Rod Stewart. Bring to a boil and beat well. That’s the recipe for The Livesays.” What I recommend is you listen to them because these guys ROCK!
